Bowtie Clients
**************

The Bowtie *client* is a piece of software that runs on each device in your network.
It provides the networking capabilities that connects your devices to each other in a secure, dynamically configured topology.

Once :doc:`installed <getting-started>`, the client-side Bowtie software is largely self-sufficient. It will communicate with your configured network via a :doc:`controller <controller>` in order to receive routes and updated policies in the case of access control changes.
